Suspension and Braking System

This set of photographs shows the various suspension and braking components fitted to the finished body shell.

The front disks and calipers are the same components as used by the Metro Turbo. Standard dry rubber suspension cones have been used in conjunction with Mini Speed adjustable suspension trumpets. Koni dampers have been chosen to balance the relatively harsh cone based suspension. Mini Speed also supplied a set of negative camber front lower suspension arms, and adjustable tie rods. The rear radius arms are also fitted with adjustable camber brackets.

The car's ride height and final wheel camber settings will be set once the car is complete and has settled under its finished weight.

Front Hub and Damper

A vertical view of the front Koni damper, hub, caliper and adjustable trumpet. The ride hide is set by adjusting the length of the trumpet by using a long Allen key inserted through the top of the sub-frame suspension mount (accessed via the engine bay).

Horizontal View

A horizontal view of the front drive assembly, as shown in the above photograph.

In this view you can clearly see the lower negative camber suspension arm and adjustable tie rod. Notice the smart black powder coated sub-frame and suspension arms.
