| Whilst restoring any car it is always interesting to make discoveries about the car's previous history. In the case of this Cooper S, we discovered that the car had been rear ended at some point in its life. This had left a few tell tale wrinkles in the boot floor and a faint crease in the back of the rear passenger seat upright. This crease was almost certainly formed by the raised wooden boot floor transfering the impact from the rear of the car. In fact the car was probably hit at the rear towards the passenger side, as rear side panel also provided evidence of being repaired. | ||

Side PanelThis photograph shows the many dents discovered in the rear passenger side panel. This entire panel had been bady repaired and then completely covered in filler. Andy used a file to identify the high points of the denting, he will later beat the correct shape back into the panel. Andy performed a similar a operation on his new roof panel after its initial fitting. | |
